Recipes
Here are some great dishes that either use our famous Bert Weidner
Barbeque Sauce, or complement the flavor of chicken, steak, or
vegetables prepared with our sauce. Either way, you're sure to enjoy
these dishes.
If you have any recipes that feature our sauce that you would like to
share, we would love to include them on our site. Email your recipes to
recipes@wnybbq.com. If we
post your recipe here, we will send you a complimentary bottle of our
sauce.
Bert Weidner's Marinated BBQ Chicken
(serves 4)
One whole chicken cut into quarters or four
boneless chicken breasts
Bert Weidner BBQ Sauce
-
Shake bottle of Bert Weidner
BBQ Sauce well before using.
This mixes the herbs and spices.
-
Place chicken in a covered bowl or
sealed (zipper lock) bag.
-
Add only enough sauce to cover
chicken completely & shake well (be sure the bag is tightly
sealed).
-
Refrigerate at least 30 minutes,
preferably longer. The longer the chicken marinates, the more
flavor it will absorb.
-
Cook chicken on preheated grill,
basting with fresh* Bert Weidner BBQ Sauce
while cooking. Chicken is thoroughly cooked when it reaches
a temperature of at least 165° F.
* Important: Do
not baste with the same sauce that was used to marinate chicken.
Grilled Vegetables à la Weidner
(serves 4 - 6)
2 medium onions
2 medium yellow squash
1 green bell pepper
1 red bell pepper
2 medium zucchini
8 oz. whole medium mushrooms
- Cut onions into eights and place into microwaveable bowl.
Cook on High for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Wash mushrooms and leave whole or cut in half.
- Cut remaining vegetables into
bite-sized chunks.
- Shake bottle of Bert Weidner
BBQ Sauce well before using. This mixes the herbs and spices.
- Toss vegetables with Bert Weidner BBQ
Sauce.
- Place vegetables in an oiled grill basket.
- Grill with lid closed over medium heat, turning and basting
occasionally, approximately 10 to 12 minutes.
Alternate cooking method:
- Use kabob skewers to hold vegetables, alternating vegetables on
the skewers.
-
Place skewers on oil-sprayed grill rack
and cook, turning frequently and basting with Bert Weidner BBQ
Sauce.
